Page to Pitch

The inaugural PEI Page to Pitch program is a new initiative designed to support Prince Edward Island–based writers who are looking to break into film and television. Whether you're developing an original concept or adapting existing work, this program offers mentorship and industry access to help move your project and your writing forward.

Participants will receive industry-leading software and expert script development from established screenwriters and TV/film executives, culminating in the opportunity to pitch their project in front of key decision makers and a live audience at the 11th annual Charlottetown Film Festival this fall. The program includes three weekend intensives scheduled between June and September 2025, with exact dates to be confirmed in consultation with selected participants and subject to facilitator availability. 

Key Features of the Program

1. Three weekend intensives with an established Showrunner to help hone your script from outline to draft and finally, to pitch. 

2. Ongoing one-on-one mentorship with senior writers hand selected for your project.

3. At least one selected participant will receive a development deal with an established Canadian production company. 

Eligibility:

Open to established PEI-based writers - those with a foundational writing skillset - who have not yet worked professionally in film or television. This includes writers with experience in fiction, nonfiction, poetry, playwriting, or other literary forms. The program is not designed to teach the basics of writing, but to help writers adapt their craft to screen-based storytelling. Writers from other disciplines who are looking to transition into screenwriting are strongly encouraged to apply.

Submission Requirements, Deadline, and General Info:

• A current creative CV (2 Pages Maximum) 

• A writing sample (any format, excerpt if long form work) 

• A 500-word cover letter introducing yourself, outlining your project and/or what you hope to gain from the program

• Deadline to apply is MAY 15th!

• Please note that this inaugural program will have LIMITED SPACES AVAILABLE.

***Selected applicants will be chosen for a follow-up interview.
