Hear ye, hear ye!

Calling all Battle Tales knights, warriors, and short fiction devotees! Unsheathe your pens, ready your stallions, and prepare to wield your words as the PEIWG 2025 Battle Tales is about to commence!

On May 16th 2025, PEIWG will announce THREE prompts, and you will have ONE WEEK to write a short story including ALL three prompts! The contest will close at midnight on May 23rd.

Your submissions will be read and reviewed by our 2025 GUEST JUDGE (and last year’s Battle Tales CHAMPION), poet and short fiction writer Monica Lacey!

Each year we’re incredibly proud of each and every writer who submits to this contest and helps make it the truly special event that it is, and we want to celebrate each and every one of you in person! The second annual Battle Tales FINALE event, proudly sponsored for the second year in a row by the wonderful folks of The Gallery Coffee House & Bistro, will be taking place after the finalists have been announced.

Prompts, details for submission requirements, and the date and time for the FINALE event to be announced on May 16th!
