Our 2024 guest judge, celebrated and award winning PEI author Nicholas Herring, certainly had his work cut out for him this year. Battle Tales NINE received a record number of 33 submissions!
We could not be more proud of our growing writing community and their dedication to this beautiful craft that Islanders are so well known for. Despite the challenging task that was put before him, Nicholas was able to choose 4 finalists out of this year’s many high quality submissions:

We love a reason to get writers in a room together to mingle, discuss the craft, and celebrate their passion for the art form, so this year we’re hosting a Battle Tales FINALE in-person at the beautiful Gallery - Coffee House & Bistro in Charlottetown! This event is meant to celebrate all of the amazing talent who submitted to this year’s friendly writing contest, and to give a platform for the finalists to read excerpts from their written pieces.
Oh, and I suppose it’s also meant for declaring a 2024 Battle Tales CHAMPION!
