This hiatus is meant to allow us to focus on three key pillars that we believe will enhance the ILA’s and, in turn, our island’s literary community:

About the Island Literary Awards (ILAs)
The Writers’ Guild has been coordinating the Island Literary Awards (ILAs) since 1987 and continues to administer these awards to acknowledge the fine work being done by Prince Edward Island’s aspiring, emerging, and established authors. Literary awards are an essential part of a writing community—they can encourage talented young writers to keep writing, they offer credentials to help writers keep moving upwards in their careers, and they can help to raise the profile of established writers.
