April is Poetry Month

1 Apr 2020 2:00 PM | Anonymous

The PEI Writers’ Guild Board of Directors have been thinking of ways to connect the writing community across PEI at a time when we’re not meeting face to face, and we’re starting with the poets. April is poetry month, after all!

Here’s how it works:

1. Take a video of yourself (or someone else) reading a poem. You can read an original poem of yours or share a favourite poem, penned by someone else (just please state who, to give them credit).

2. Send to us (peiwritersguild@gmail.com)

Throughout the month of April, we’ll post these videos over on our main PEI Writers’ Guild Facebook page. Feel free to share them and fill Facebook with poetry.

Tip: Please try to keep your video under 60 seconds—these are meant to be short videos.

ALSO, If you are a poet and would like to host a live reading event, we would love to support you. Please email us at peiwritersguild@gmail.com and we can chat logistics.

Remember, as Oscar Wilde once said, “a poet can survive everything but a misprint.”

Let’s lift the Island spirits through poetry! Who’s in?

NOTE: Facebook only allows Events to be in 2-week spurts, so we'll repost this half-way through the month.
